What's Under the Hood

It's not just another car forum. Builds is purpose-built for people who track their progress, not just post their opinions. Here's how:

Garage-first profiles

Your rides define your identity.

Versioned build logs

Document changes over time, not just one-and-done.

Check-ins, events, and social discovery

Connect through shared moments and locations.

Mobile-first

Built for the paddock, the meet, the garage — not a desktop from 2007.

What is Builds?

builds://garage

$ A digital garage built for real enthusiasts.

Builds is where your car takes center stage. Each user's profile is their garage — a curated collection of rides, each with their own build history, photos, and purpose. From street cruisers to autocross machines, every story belongs.

Whether you're restoring a classic or optimizing lap times, Builds gives you a place to track it all — with support for images, videos, dyno charts, telemetry files, and more.

Why Not Facebook, Reddit, or Forums?

📉 The Problems with Today's Car Communities:

Platform
Why It Falls Short
Facebook
Algorithm-driven. No structure. Content disappears fast.
Reddit
Temporary. Comment-focused. No real sense of ownership.
Forums
Stale. Siloed. Hard to use on mobile or track over time.

✅ Why Builds is Different:

Why Versioning Matters

v1.0
Stock setup
v2.0
Cold air intake + tune
v3.0
Turbo upgrade

Other platforms show you snapshots — but Builds gives you a timeline. That dyno chart, that 1/4 mile time, that autocross run — it all means more when it's tied to a specific setup.

  • Post a result and attach it to a build version
  • See what changed between versions — and what made the difference
  • Tell the full story, not just the highlight

It's not just what you did — it's when and how you did it.

Use Cases

🔧
"I track every part and tune in my build history. It's like a changelog for my car."
📸
"I share event photos and get feedback from others with similar setups."
🧠
"I discover what's working for others before I buy or try something new."

Also great for:

  • Keeping a timeline of upgrades
  • Documenting track/autocross results
  • Following other people's builds for inspiration

The Network Problem

Every social platform faces a cold start. Builds is no different. But you can help shape what this becomes — not just by joining, but by sharing your builds and inviting others.

Think of it like a car meet — it doesn't happen unless someone pulls in first.

Roadmap / What's Next

We're just getting started. Upcoming features:

🏁 Autocross-focused features
🛒 Marketplace for parts, builds, and services
🚗 Group ride planning and discovery
📍 Location-aware events & check-ins
👥 Clubs, groups, and private garages
🧰 Garage tools: part logs, cost tracking

The Origin Story

I'm a car enthusiast. I've got a few manual cars with Recaros and a track habit. I wanted a place to log my builds, share progress, and engage with other drivers who care about the details.

Forums were too fragmented and stuck in the early 2000s. Reddit was too shallow and noisy. Facebook? Forget it.

So I built Builds — a clean, focused platform where your garage is the center of your identity, and every ride tells a story.
